I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's boxing match.

Former two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
